RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Harold Leroy Litts age 74 of County Highway # 25 passed away on Monday evening January 19, 2008 in MaryImogene BassettHospital, Cooperstown.
He was born on September 25, 1934 in Ulster Park, son of the late Howard W. and Bertha Moses Litts. Harold was raised in Ulster Parkand was educated in the Union Center School. For many years he was a welder for Universal Road Machinery in Kingston, retiring in 1978.
On August 1, 1977 he was united in marriage with the former Helen Marie Jones in Esopus. They made their home in Norwichbefore moving to Richfield Springs in 2003. Helen and Harold shared a loving and devoted union of thirty years until her passing on November 5, 2007.
Mr. Litts had a strong love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with many of his friends and family. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.
Surviving are five sons and their wives, Harold and Diane Litts, Lester and Kathy Litts, Frank and Phyllis Litts all of Kingston, Mike and Luann Litts of Ulster Park, Kevin and Bonnie Litts of New Berlin, three daughters and their husbands, Helen and Joseph Cregen of Zebulon, NC, Nancy and Larry Bond of Richfield Springs, Rose Litts and Mario Santos of Zebulon, NC, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and wife Helen he was preceded in death by a brother Howard Litts and a cousin Dorothy Rockwell.
A committal will take place for both Harold and Helen in St Remys Cemetery, UlsterPark later this spring. There are no calling hours.
