SCHUYLER LAKE - Harriet G. Fryer age 85 of County Route # 23 passed away on Friday morning May 9, 2008 in the Otsego Manor, Cooperstown. She was born on September 4, 1922 in Albany, daughter of the late Irwin and Ethylin Richardson Gilgore. Harriet was raised in Albany where she graduated high school. She furthered her education, graduating from Mildred Ellie Secretarial School in Albany. For a short period of time she worked in a law office until her marriage to Keith Fryer on August 7, 1943 in Albany. Together they owned and operated Stoney Acres Dairy Farm in Meadowdale, until their retirement in 1978. After their retirement they resided in Albany, Cherry Valley and in 2003 moved to Schuyler Lake. Mrs. Fryer distinguished herself in farming by being a member and past president of the Albany County Farm Bureau as well as a member of the Flying Farmers of America where she held her own pilots license. Harriet will always be remembered as a hopeful, caring and loving person. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and especially her family. Surviving are her loving husband of nearly sixty-six years Keith, one daughter, Mary and her husband James Fravil of Lodi, a son Keith R. Presti and his wife Francine of WA, a sister, Ellen Stickler of East Greenbush, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two nephews. The family will be present in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs to receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm. Funeral service and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the American Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
