ILION - Helen M. Brockway, age 87 formerly of North Madison Street, Rome currently of 99 Sixth Avenue, Ilion passed away on Tuesday December 16, 2008 in Mohawk Valley Nursing Home. She had the comfort of her son Scott at her side. Helen was born on June 29, 1921 in Randall a daughter of the late Walter E. and Myra Ouderkirk Scott. She was raised in Randall and was a graduate of Fultonville Fonda High School. On May 4th, 1946 she was united in marriage to Elgin E. Brockway in Fultonville a blessed and loving union of 49 years until his passing in 1995. Mrs. Brockway was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, knitting and spending time with her cherished grandchildren she was always there for them when they were sick. Surviving are her son Scott and his wife Roberta of Ilion two grandchildren Alison Bowen and her husband Matthew of Charleston, SC and Christopher Brockway of Ilion. Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc 115 Court Street, Herkimer.
