Ilion - Helen Clements, age 71, joined hands with her Savior and entered the gates of heaven on Monday, December 10, 2001.
She was born on June 13, 1930, in Richfield Springs and was loving raised by her parents Frances and Joseph Kaminski. A life long area resident, she was raised and educated in Richfield Springs, where she resided until 1989. On June 4, 1949, she married Lewis Clements, Jr. in Richfield Springs, a union of 23 years until his passing on August 14, 1972. Helen's life was devoted to caring for her family; she was the strength that they leaned on and was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Her gentle nature and caring smile will always be remembered. She especially enjoyed her leisure time joining her friends at Prindle Apartments in various activities among them bingo and going on trips with the 'Good News Group'.
She is survived by her loving children, Karen A. Willsey and her boyfriend Lawrence S. Pavese of Utica, Bonnie L. Legg of Little Falls, Arthur D. and his wife Deborah D. Clements of Springfield Center, Phillip J. Clements of League City, TX, Lisa M. Flatt and her husband William of Fort Knox, KY, Jackie Ward and her husband Matthew of Ilion; nineteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive family and friends on Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
