MOHAWK-Helen Patricia Cook age 76 passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon March 28, 2017 in Faxton-St. Lukes Medical Center, New Hartford. She had the support and comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born on February 1, 1941 in town of Norway, daughter of the late Herman and Sophie Unser Baylor. A lifelong area resident she was a graduate of Mohawk High School. On March 14, 1959 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Richard Cook in Grace Episcopal Church in Mohawk. Mrs. Cook was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Helens home and family were her priorities in life. She was always there for them, in good times or bad. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family and will be sadly missed. Surviving are her devoted husband of fifty-eight years Kenneth R. Cook, Sr., one son Kenneth R. Cook Jr. and his wife Brenda of Ilion, a daughter Shari Murphy of Ilion, two sisters Theresa Ishy Marko, of Herkimer, Jean Hyde and her husband Robert of Mohawk, eleven grandchildren, Brandon Cook of Charlotte, NC, Laken Cook , Landry Cook, Tanner Cook, Kye Cook, Kace Cook, Sixx Cook, Nina Dickinson, Kaitlyn Dickinson, Sophie Murphy, Benjamin Murphy all of Ilion, three great grandchildren, Olivia Cook, Cecelia Cook both of Herkimer, Isabella Cook of Charlotte, NC, three sisters-in-law, Patricia Baylor of Mohawk, Marion Baylor of Herkimer and Eleanor Baylor of Mohawk, many nieces and nephews including special niece, Linda Cockett and nephew, David Wollaber several cousins and special friend Joan Casadonte. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Herman Sonny Baylor, Donald Baylor, Albert Baylor and Richard Baylor, three sisters, Adelaide Wollaber, Sophie Susie Hopper and Charmaine Chickie Phillips. Calling hours for Mrs. Cook will be on Tuesday from 3:00 until 6:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. A funeral service will follow at immediately after at 6:00 pm with the Reverend Brian Engel, pastor of the Mohawk Reformed Church officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer Humane Society or the Kelberman Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
