RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Helen M. Famulare, 90, of Bronner Manor passed away peacefully on Thursday November 15, 2007 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. She had the loving comfort of her family at her side.
Helen was born June 1, 1917 in VanHornesville a daughter of the late Horatio S. and Emogene Waltz Eckler. She was raised and educated in VanHornesville she later moved to Richfield Springs in the 1930s. On December 26, 1936 she married Dominick A. Famulare in St. Josephs Church, Richfield Springs a blessed union 42 years until his passing in October of 1979. Helen was a homemaker and she was very devoted to her family.
She was a member of St. Josephs Church where she had served with the Rosary Altar Society. She was the oldest and a founding member of the Richfield Springs Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Helen lived a simple life, and found great joy in spending her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A friend to many and she will be deeply missed.
Surviving are her special friend Clint Robinson; two sons Robert F. and his wife Barbara of Richfield Springs, James E, and his wife Robin of Dallas, PA; a daughter Rose Marie Quintin and her husband David of Richfield Springs; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband Dominick she was preceded in death by a son Joseph A.; three brothers Floyd, Harry and Vaughn Eckler; three sisters, Lena Mosher, Pearl Oby and Esther Tennant.
Funeral from J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs on Tuesday at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Josephs Church, Richfield Springs, at 10:00 am with Reverend Terrence Healy officiating. Interment will take place at a later time convenient to the family. Helens family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4:00 7:00 pm.
Members of the Richfield Springs Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will assemble at the funeral home on Monday 6:30 pm to conduct ritualistic services.
