Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Helen M. Litts age 67 of County Highway # 25 passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening November 5, 2007 in Little Falls Hospital. She had the comfort of her loving at her side. She was born on November 2, 1940 in Kingston, daughter of the late George M. and Lena R. Gardner Jones. Helen was raised and educated in Kingston. On August 1, 1977 she was united in marriage with Harold Leroy Litts in Esopus, NY. They moved to Richfield Springs in 2003 coming from Norwich. Helen was a loving mother and devoted wife. Her family always came first and foremost. She was always there for them, in good times and bad. Vivid are the memories they share of the wonderful aromas of her cooking and baking, especially during the holidays. In her leisure time she found enjoyment in arts and crafts, sewing, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Surviving besides her husband of thirty years Harold L. Litts Sr. are six children and their spouses, Frank and Phyllis Litts of Kingston, Helen and Joseph Cregen of High Falls, Mike and Luann Litts of Ulster Park, Nancy and Larry Bond of Richfield Springs, Kevin and Bonnie Litts of New Berlin, Rose Litts and her companion Mario Santos of Zebulon, NC, one brother, Fred Jones and his wife Sharon of Port Ewen, a sister Gertrude Schonger and her husband John of Kingston, sixteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother George Jones in 2007. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 7:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Alan Miller will officiate. Interment will take place at a later time in St. Remys Cemetery, Ulster Park. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm.
