RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Helen C. Peplinski, 91, passed away quietly at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home in Ilion, where she resided since September 2006. She was a resident of the Country Manor, Herkimer, for the past two and half years. Previously, she had lived at Bronner Manor Apartments, Richfield Springs, for over twenty years.
She was born in Nanticoke, PA on April 19, 1915, the daughter of Joseph and Victoria Selak Hugick. At the age of twelve, Helens family moved to a farm outside of Richfield Springs. In 1940 she married Zigmont Peplinski. Together they raised their six children and operated a farm near Jordanville, which is still family owned.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Zigmont, a son William, two brothers, John and Peter Hugick and three sisters, Mary Kierstyn, Clara Lesniak and Amelia Kozak, a daughter-in-law, Pamela Klink Peplinski, and a son-in-law David Dolhun.
Helens greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind four sons, Bernard Peplinski and wife, Carol of Cedarville, Michael Peplinski and wife Eleanor of Richfield Springs, Edward Peplinski and wife Dorayne of Richfield Springs, Robert Peplinski of Mohawk, and a daughter Carol Dolhun-Mondi of Syracuse. Also surviving Helen are thirteen grandchildren, Bernard, Jr., Richard and Christine Peplinski, Michael Jr. and Ronald Peplinski, Tori Luke; Jeffrey and Paul Dolhun; Robert Jr. and Billy Peplinski, Jennifer McDonald; Jason and Matthew Peplinski and also seventeen great grandchildren: Ziggy, Evan, William, Courtney, R.J., Breanne, Dylan, Connor, Darlene, Jake, Deidre, Erin, Shelby, Zachary, Nolan, Samantha and Nathan. Helen also leaves behind a brother Michael Hugick, a sister, Lottie Kozak and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Helen was a life-long member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Richfield Springs, where a Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Monday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m., followed by an internment service for the family at St. Josephs Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
