RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Helen L. Skinner, age 87, of Church Street, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2010 in MaryImogene BassettHospital, Cooperstown. She was born in Walloomac, a daughter of the late Jasper and Martha Brown. Raised and educated in the mid-Hudson Valley area, she graduated from nursing school. She married Robert Skinner making their home in Richfield Springs. Mr. Skinner predeceased her. For many years she had worked as a Registered Nurse retiring in 1977 as second floor nursing supervisor of Bassett Hospital,Cooperstown. Mrs. Skinner was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church Richfield Springs. Surviving are one sister, Frances Olver, several nieces and nephews and close friends Diane and Larry Jouben. A graveside service will be held later this spring in Lakeview cemetery at a time to be announced. The Reverend John Dixon Bartle rector of St. Johns Episcopal Church will officiate. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
