RICHFIELD SPRINGS Henry Christmann, "O.F.," 82, of U.S. Highway 20, passed away unexpectedlyon Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at his residence.He was born, on Oct. 14, 1919, in Patterson, N.J., son of the late Henry andHattie Wuensch Christmann.Henry was raised in Patterson andwas a graduate of Patterson High School. During World War II he served with theUnited States Army, where he received the European African-Middle EasternService Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1945. On Oct. 5, 1949, he marriedRose Marie Russo in Brooklyn, a blessed union of 53 years until her passing inOctober of 2001. Mr. Christmann worked as a linotype operator for the PattersonNews, retiring in 1986. He and his wife moved to Richfield Springs in 1991.Henry was a gentle man with a warm sense of humor. To all who new him, they willremember his smile and easy-going manner.
Surviving him are two sons,Christopher and his wife, JoAnn, Christmann of Richfield Springs, MarkChristmann of Edmeston; two brothers, Charles Christmann of Richfield Springsand Roy Christmann of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents andwife, Rose, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Christmann, and abrother, Harold Christmann.
