Obituary

MOHAWK Ida Jane Stone, age 90, of East Main Street, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2011, in her home. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.She was born on April 10, 1921, in Little Falls, daughter of the late Henry and Edna Yuron Bohl. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of West Canada Valley High School with the class of 1939. Mrs. Stone worked as a bookkeeper for Munger & Bechtolds Auto Dealership in Herkimer and later for Holt Brothers in Ilion. She retired in 1983.Ida Jane was first married to James Harter who was killed in World War II. In January 1955, she was united in marriage with Robert Stone. He preceded her in death in 1984.To all who knew her, they will remember a caring, loving and hopeful person who was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Stone Young and husband, Christopher, of Mohawk; a son, James Harter and his wife, Marilyn, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sons, Thomas and wife, Terri Stone, of Oregon, Ill., Terry Stone and wife, Carol, of Mohawk, and Larry Stone, of Auburndale, Fla.; daughter, Sharon Ferdula and her husband, Joseph, of Frankfort; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husbands, James Harter and Robert William Stone, Sr., she was predeceased by a son, Robert William Stone, Jr., and a daughter, Melissa Stone.Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Thursday at noon in Mohawk Cemetery. There are no calling hours.Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the C.A.P. or the Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery service.Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., Herkimer
