RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Ida Walsh, 65, of Ann Street, died on Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
She was born April 12, 1936, in Worcester, a daughter of the late James and Gertrude Race Carroll. She was raised and educated in Worcester. On Dec. 12, 1954, she married Donald Walsh in Worcester. Coming from Gilderland Center, Ida and her family had lived in Richfield Springs for the past 25 years. Until her recent illness, she had worked as a private duty home health aide. She was a kind and caring person who loved people and was happiest when surrounded by her family.
Surviving her are her husband of 46 years, Donald; three sons, Donald and his wife Marie Walsh and Jeffrey Walsh, all of Richfield Springs and Michael and his wife Dawn Walsh of Clayville; three daughters, Patricia Coll, Holly Walsh and Kimberly and her husband Gene Stocking, all of Richfield Springs; one brother, Fred Carroll of Gloversville; three sisters, Hannah DeMarco of East Northport, Clara Hotaling of Palatine Bridge, Trudy and her husband Leon Crouch of Richfield Springs; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Merton Carroll.
Funeral service will be on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the Richfield Springs Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alan Miller, pastor, officiating.
The family will be present in the church to receive relatives and friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday (one hour prior to the service).
Interment will take place next spring in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
