Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Ingeborg M. Inka Lupardo, age 74, of Hugick Road, passed away on Saturday afternoon, July 1, 2006, in her home. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born on October 30, 1931 in Olomouc, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Erich and Filomena Furst. Inka was raised and educated in Olomouc. She left during World War II at the age of 13 to embark on a life of adventure. This included attending Medical School in Switzerland. In the 1950's she relocated to Detroit, Michigan. Over the next 30 years she raised her family in New Jersey, Italy and Sweden. Her many interests included Dressage and raising Rhodesian Ridgebacks. She volunteered for the Upper Saddle River, NJ Ambulance Corps and also worked as a dispatcher for the Mahwah, NJ Police Department. In the early 1980's she became owner and proprietor of the Centerville Tavern in Saugerties, NY. In 1988 she came to Richfield Springs from Saugerties. For ten years Mrs. Lupardo worked in the office of C. P. Craska Trucking Company, until her retirement in 2001. Her farm and family were most important to her and she gloried in the presence of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Surviving are her devoted husband, Conrad; two sons, Charles Beck of Belfast, ME, Tom Beck and his wife, Jane of Homer, AK; a daughter, Anne Cottingham of Austin, TX; a stepson, Richard Lupardo and his wife, Lorie of Richfield Springs; one stepdaughter, Debra Stupecki of Apache Junction, AZ; two brothers and their wives, Ulli and Janna Furst, Tom and Eva Furst, all of Olomouc, Czech Republic; nine grandchildren, Forrest, Carson, Sonja and Oliver Beck, Joshua, Conrad and Phillip Lupardo, Amber Hodge and Devon Cogswell; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday two hours prior to the Memorial Service.
