RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Irene Grace Angier Curcio age 88 of Elm Street, passed from this life quietly on Wednesday night January 28, 2009 in her home with her loving family at her side.
She was a lifelong resident of Richfield Springs and youngest of eight children born to William and Ella Gallagher Angier. Irene was educated in the Bronner Street Schooland as a young girl worked at Sure Catch and the Cory Cottage. On May 20, 1944 she was united in marriage with Franklyn L. Curcio in Saint Josephs Church, Richfield Springs. They shared devoted union of sixty years until his passing on September 7, 2004. Mrs. Curcio worked alongside her husband and his family as they built and successfully ran food and lodging business in the community.
Irene will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person who was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her cherished grandson. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her daughter, Sheila and her husband Ralph Osterhoudt of Richfield Springs and her devoted grandson Cory and his companion Lisa Asher ofWaterford, Many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Frank she was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Susan Curcio along with five sisters and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in Saint Josephs Church, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Father John P. Rosson will officiate. Interment will take place later this spring in Saint Josephs Cemetery. At Mrs. Curcios request there are no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Richfield Springs Santa Anonymous, PO Box # 1, Richfield Springs, NY 13439or the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad envelopes will be available at the church.
