RICHFIELD SRINGS - Isabella Garbera Krish, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, in the Hampshire House, Oneonta. She was born on March 18, 1925, in Westlow, daughter of the late Edward and Sarah VanBuren Duncan. Isabelle was raised and educated in Schuyler Lake she graduated from Schuyler Lake High School. On July 29, 1942, she was united in marriage to Thomas T. Garbera. They shared a devoted union of fifty-seven years until his passing on October 1, 1999. On October 5, 2005 she married John Anthony Krish. He passed away on August 8, 2011. For many years she had worked as a shipping clerk for Shur-Katch, Richfield Springs. Mrs. Krish had a strong belief in God and was a devoted member of Saint Joseph's RC Church, Richfield Springs. She at one time she was active with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Richfield Springs American Legion Post # 616. Isabella will always be remembered as a caring person who always had a kind word for everyone she met. She took great pride in her baking ability and shared her skill with many friends and neighbors, to their delight. She enjoyed dancing especially square dancing and polka. She will be greatly missed and not forgotten. Surviving her are three sons, Edward Garbera and his wife Kathy of Florida, Francis Garbera and his wife Mattie of Mohawk, Philip Garbera of ,TX, two brothers, Ray Duncan and his wife Helen of Richfield Springs, Elwin, a sister, Elizabeth Sparks of Herkimer four grandchildren , several nieces nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husbands Thomas Garbera and John Kirsh she was preceded in death by six brothers, Sylvan, Frank, Howard, Herbert, Elwin and Edward Duncan, one sister, Louise Kenyon. Calling hours for Mrs. Kirsh will take place on Tuesday from noon until 2:00pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. Funeral service will be immediately after in the funeral home with the Reverend Bernard Osai Ampong, Pastor of Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs officiating.
