ILION-Jacalyn Ruthford age 54 of West River Street passed away on Saturday December 8, 2007 in Little Falls Hospital. She had the peace and comfort of her loving family at her side.To all who knew her they will always remember her as a devoted mother and homemaker. In her leisure time she found great relaxation in using her camera. An avid photographer she had a large collection of photo albums with many pictures of her favorite subject, her family. Jacalyn found her happiness when she surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren. A warm, caring and hopeful person she will be greatly missed. She was born on July 18, 1953 in Oneonta, daughter of the late Marvin and Avelyn Beacraft Greiner. Jacalyn was raised and educated in Laurens. A resident of Ilionfor the past twenty-seven years, she with her family came here from Oneonta. Surviving are her life companion and soul mate since 1981, Larry Goodrich, two sons, George Rogers and his wife Sarah, Ray Rutherford all of Herkimer, a step-daughter Crystal Bass and her husband David of Herkimer, three brothers, George Greiner and his wife Melodie of Herkimer, Ernest Greiner and his wife Cherylyn of Mount Vision, Marvin Greiner Jr. of Oneonta, three sisters and their husbands, Joan and James Haggerty of Herkimer, Linda and Charles Smith of Cedarville, Peggy and Clayton II Sheffler, five grandchildren, Dylan and Rhylee Ruthford, Kaitlyn Rogers, Lindsey and David Bass, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will take place on Thursday at 1:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Ralph Horender will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service (12:00 noon until 1:00 pm).
