HERKIMER-Jacqueline Margaret Brown, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, in her home. She had the comfort of her loving family by her side. She was born on April 3, 1925, in Herkimer, daughter of the late Daniel E. and Aline Chelle Manion. A lifelong Herkimer resident she was a graduate of Herkimer High School and furthered her education at Syracuse University where she completed four years of college in three years. On April 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Brown in Syracuse. They made their home and raised their family in Herkimer. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on July 2, 2008. Mrs. Brown was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer and lived a devoted Catholic life. Jacquelin had a strong sense of community. For many years she volunteered for the Meal-on-Wheels Program at Midtown Apartments, she served on the Board of Elections and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. To all who knew her she was a kind, gentle and generous lady with an unforgettable smile. Her life revolved around her family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed. Surviving are two sons, Daniel E. Brown Of Hinsdale, NH, Patrick J. Brown and is wife Robin of Baldwinsville, four daughters, Donna Wrobbel of Fairport, Christine Howell and her husband Robert of Canastota, Carolyn DeCoursey and her husband William of Herkimer with whom she resided, Kimberly Schrader and her husband Rudy of Mohawk, twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Mary Manion of Herkimer, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, Donald she was preceded in death by a son, Michael F. Brown in 2004, a grandson, Michael Howell in 1999, two brothers, John Manion and his wife Gladys and George Manion. Calling hours for Mrs. Brown will be on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. Funeral from the funeral home will be at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer with the Very Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to St. Francis deSales Parish. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
