HERKIMER - James A. Bedat, age 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, evening, May 14, 2013, in St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. He was born on May 11, 1953 in Danbury, CT. , son of the late Albert and Ethel Ritchie Bedat. He was raised and educated in CT and graduated from Newtown High School. Since 1990 he has resided in Herkimer and had worked for Folts Home retiring in 2010. Jim was a social person who enjoyed being around people. He was known as a great jokester who enjoyed telling witty stories. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are two sisters, Deborah Bates and Lynn Bedat both of Herkimer, a special aunt, Anne Newmark of Torrington, CT and several cousins. The family will be present at Folts Home Chapel, 104 North Washington Street, on Wednesday, May 22nd at 1:00 p.m. for a celebration of his life. Pastor Cathy Lee will officiate. Interment will be private. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Herkimer.
