WEST EDMESTON-James Anthony Guardi Tony age 39 of River Street, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening January 31, 2007 in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
He was born on October 9, 1967 in Cooperstown, son of Giocomo L. and Helen E. Goering Guardi. A lifelong area resident he was educated in Richfield Springs and had attended Herkimer County Community College. Tony had first worked for Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in the Housekeeping Department and Cafeteria. He then started his own cleaning business, S & B Cleaning Services of West Edmeston retiring in 2001.
Tony will always be remembered as a young man with an intense devotion for music and was an accomplished Guitar Player. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and family, especially his two loving children. To them he filled their lives with happiness and will remain in their hearts forever.
Surviving besides his parents Giocomo and Helen are his two children, a son, William Joel Billy Guardi and a daughter, Shawna Elise Guardi both of South Valley, his fianc, Bryanna Beard, three sisters, Nancy Rose Renwick of Utica, Darlene Dolly Wolford and her husband Paul of Mohawk, Gina Frances Thompson and her husband Richard of Salisbury Center, a brother, Jude Thaddeus Guardi of Columbus, OH, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister Joanne Schramm and foster brother, John Proctor.
Funeral service will be on Sunday at 4:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, The Reverend Jay P. Henderson; Pastor of the Burlington Flats Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will take place later this spring in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends two hours prior to the funeral service (2:00 until 4:00 pm)
