HERKIMER James W. Jackson, age 45 of Westwood Drive, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in St. Luke Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. He was born on September 6, 1960 in Herkimer son of Mary L. Dibble Jackson and the late James I. Jackson. Raised and educated in Herkimer, he graduated from Herkimer High School. He continued his education at Lycoming College, Willamsport, PA. In 1989 he married the former Cheryl Carpenter in the Mohawk United Methodist Church. For many years he was employed with GELCO Corp, Syracuse. James had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Herkimer Reformed Church. He enjoyed his coin collection and was an avid sports fan, watching all sports especially NASCAR racing. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten. Surviving are his mother, Mary Jackson of Herkimer, one son Todd Jackson of Mohawk, two brothers and their wives, David and Patricia Jackson of Ormond Beach, FL, Robert and Barbara Jackson of Fairport, five nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc. 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Mark Andersen, pastor of the Herkimer Reformed Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2:00 4:00 and 7:00 9:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer Reformed Church, the America Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice.
