RICHFIELD SPRINGS-James Burdett Lamphere age 58 passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning January 30, 2017 in his home. He was born October 24, 1957 in Little Falls, son of Esther Balderston Lamphere and the late Emerson Lamphere. A lifelong area resident he was raised in Jordanville and was a graduate of Owen D. Young High School. Jim first worked as a repairman for eighteen years at the Jordanville Quarry and later at Barretts Construction Company retiring in 2007. Mr. Lamphere had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church in Richfield Springs. To those who knew him will never forget his sincere manner and his unforgettable smile. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family especially his cherished grandchildren.
Surviving him are his son Burdett Lamphere and his wife Amber of Piseco, two daughters, Jenna King and her husband Callum of Tupper Lake, Heather Bourg of Michigan, his mother Esther Lamphere a sister, Patricia Lamphere both of Richfield Springs, five grandchildren, one niece, Megan Lamphere of Richfield Springs and many cousins. Besides his father Emerson he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Lamphere in 2010.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am in Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church with Father Silvaster, pastor officiating. Interment will be later this spring in Saint Josephs Cemetery, Richfield Springs. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
