James Leroy Mead's Obituary

UTICA-James LeRoy Mead age 65 of Kemble Street entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning September 13, 2003 in the Loretto Utica Center with the comfort of his devoted brother Gary by his side.. He was born on March 27, 1938 in Little Falls, son of the late Earl Kitchner and Glennie McArthur Mead. A lifelong area resident, he was educated in Dolgeville Schools. Jim was employed by the Saint Regis Paper Company in Deferiet, retiring in 1972. A former Herkimer resident, for the last twenty-five years he has resided in Utica. He was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are four sons and their wives; James Earl and Ann Mead of Lowville, Robert Lewis and Susan Mead of Burlington, NJ, John Samuel and Kathy Mead of Glen Park, Shawn Patrick and Betty Mead of Black River, one brother; Gary and his wife Jennifer Mead of Mohawk, a sister: Carolyn and her husband Ronald Sullivan of Florida, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 12:00 noon in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer will officiate. Mr. Mead will be laid to rest beside his mother Glennie Mead OConnell in the Curtis Cemetery, Salisbury. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday two hours prior to the funeral service (10:00 am until 12:00 noon).
