ILION-James Michael Morehouse age 38, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 19, 2012 in his home after an extended illness. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on August 24, 1973 in Little Falls, son of Larry M. and Jaquie L. Bowman Morehouse. A lifelong Ilion resident he was educated in Ilion Schools. Mr. Morehouse worked as a self employed carpenter. Jim had a strong love for the outdoors; in his leisure time enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. To his many friends and family he will always be remembered as a caring man with an unforgettable smile. He will be greatly missed. Surviving besides his parents, Jaquie and Larry of Ilion are one son Dylan Morehouse of West Winfield, a brother, Jon Morehouse of Ilion, two step sisters and their husbands, Tammi and Mark Netti of Herkimer, Helena and Larry Mead of Wilmington, NC, his maternal grandmother, Mary Jean Bowman of Herkimer, many aunts, uncles , nieces, nephews and cousins. His family will be present to receive relatives and friends in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 7:00 pm in the funeral home, the Reverend Janet Gleason, pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls will officiate. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
