NEWPORT-James D. Trzpuc age 62 ofState Highway# 28 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday night January 10, 2008 in Saint Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica.
He was born on June 15, 1945 in Valley City, North Dakota, son of Mary Matt Trzpuc and the late James H. Trzpuc. He was raised in Marion,ND and was a graduate of Marion High School.
An honorably discharged US Army veteran, he proudly served our country during the Vietnam War. After his military service and upon his return home to North Dakota he met the former Eileen Hysack. They were united in marriage on August 20, 1966 in Saint Josephs Church, Herkimer. They have made their home in Newportsince 1976 coming from Barneveld.
For more than twenty years Mr. Trzpuc worked as the Transportation Supervisor for the West Canada Valley Central School District. Most recently he was employed by G&I Homes in Schuyler.
He was a member of the Richfield Springs Vets Club. A true outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter, fisherman and member of the West Canada Valley Fish & Game Club.
Those who knew him will tell you his family was first and foremost. He was their strength. The one they could rely on. He was always there for them in both good times and bad. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and family, especially his two grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his loving wife of forty-one years Eileen, one son, Mark Trzpuc and his wife Tammy of Columbus, GA, a daughter Jennifer Waite and her husband Jason of Fort Plain, his mother Mary Trzpuc, one brother, Bernard Bernie and his wife Jane Trzpuc, three sisters Mary Lou Suze Trzpuc, Cindy Sinclair and her husband John and Jane Trzpuc Niess all of Jamestown, ND, two grandchildren, Sarah Ann Trzpuc and Nathaniel James Trzpuc both of Columbus, GA, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be on Monday evening at 7:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Pastor Sheree Acre will officiate. Interment will take place later this spring in Mountain ViewMemorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Monday three hours prior to the funeral service (4:00 until 7:00 pm).
Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society or the Newport Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
