Obituary

Airman First Class, Jamie Burroughs of Schulyer, NY, was called home to be with the Lord on the morning of Saturday, January 22, 2011. Jamies passing was the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Mountain Home, Idaho, which is where he was stationed in the United States Air Force. Jamie was born in Herkimer, NY on June 23, 1988, the son of Rose and Richard Burroughs. He attended Clinton and Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer Senior High School in June of 2006. After attending SUNY College at Delhi, Jamie made the brave decision to join the United States Air Force. He graduated from Basic Training and was stationed in Mountain Home, Idaho in July of 2010. Jamie was a natural athlete and avid fan of all sports from a very young age. He gave one hundred percent to every team he was a part of. He played hockey, baseball, basketball, football, golf and even walked onto the college lacrosse team at Delhi. Those who were blessed to know Jamie knew that nothing made him happier than to be surrounded by his friends and family. Jamies joy came from simple things, such as watching New York Jets football games with friends, playing a game of cards with his cousins, uncles, brother and grandfather, or just sitting around the table laughing and telling stories with his mother, brother and sister. Jamie made a lasting impression on everyone he met not only with his warm smile and bright blue eyes, but with his incredibly kind heart and playful spirit. He always had a way of making those around him feel special and had a knack for bringing laughter to every room he entered. Jamie is survived by his beloved mother, Rose Burroughs of Schuyler, NY and his father Richard C. Burroughs of Florida; his brother Richard of Albany, NY and his sister Danielle of Schulyer, NY. He also leaves, Joseph Pashley of Schuyler, NY who has been like a father to him. Jamie leaves his maternal grandparents, Silvio and Eleonora Ceneviva of Herkimer, NY and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. They all meant the world to him. Jamies presence among his family and friends will be truly missed. A private family service will be held at Fenner Funeral Home in Herkimer, NY. A Christian burial will take place at a later date. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude for all of the prayers and condolences received from family and friends during our time of mourning. We are so happy to see that he made such a positive impact on so many lives. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the United States Air Force for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jamie Burroughs Memorial Basketball Scholarship, c/o Herkimer High School, 801 West German Street, Herkimer, NY 13350.
