Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Jane Ainslie age 86 passed away peacefully on Friday morning September 1, 2017 in her home. Throughout her last days she had the comfort and support of her loving family at her side. She was born on August 7, 1931 in Cooperstown, daughter of the late Dorr and Hazel Dornburgh Snyder. Jane grew up on Irish Hill in Cooperstown where she graduated from Cooperstown High School. On August 14, 1949 she was united in marriage to Harold (Hap) D. Ainslie in the Cooperstown Baptist Church. They shared a loving and devoted union for more than fifty-six years until his passing on February 10, 2006. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Richfield Springs. Her husband and her were 4-H leaders in the community, providing many wonderful memories to the children of the neighborhood. She held several jobs, including her last one at the Fly Creek Cider Mill. In her leisure time she enjoyed her gardens, watching birds, attending local fairs, crocheting and listening to music. To those who knew her she was kind, caring and accepting of all. She was always there to help someone in need without looking for anything in return. Jane was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was the most important thing to her and gave her great joy. She will truly be missed here on earth but is now with her husband whom she missed dearly. Surviving her are: three sons and their wives, William (Bill) and Betty Ainslie of Tavares, FL, Warren and Rachel Ainslie-Hamblin and Wayne (Chet) and Carol Ainslie all of Richfield Springs; three daughters, Donna Ainslie, Deb DeJohn and her husband Rick all of Ilion, Dodie Ainslie and her partner Gail Strausser of Endicott; two brothers-in-law Jim Ainslie and Walter (Muzzy) Hribar of Richfield Springs; ten grandchildren, Trevor Ainslie and wife Amy, Brad Ainslie and wife Tracy, Kim Cremeno, Linda Leone, Jessica Barbuto and husband Mark, Carolyn DeJohn and husband Michael Petrei, Georgia, Ida and Martha Ainslie-Hamblin, and Candace Domion; nine great grandchildren, Ashley, Kara, Kiersten, Logan, Kyan, Mia, Violet Jane, Lexi and Aedan; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
