FRANKFORT - Janet Harrington, age 74, of South Frankfort Street, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, June 27, 2011 in her home. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born on March 25, 1937, in Herkimer, daughter of the late Harold and Virginia Binney Wheeler. A lifelong area resident she was raised and educated in Ilion. Mrs. Harrington had resided in Ilion and Little Falls before coming to Frankfort in 2007. To all who knew her, they will never forget a caring and devoted mother who was always there for her children in good times or bad. She found great happiness when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are four daughters, Virginia Lynch and her companion Peter Tucci of Herkimer, Darlene Robinson and her husband Bill of Schuyler, Melissa Aney of Little Falls, Lisa Volo and her husband Patrick of South Columbia, two sons, Randy Harrington and his companion Jackie Everson of Utica, Charles Charlie Harrington and his companion Melissa Tucci of Little Falls, a sister Helen Bluett of Ilion, twenty-one grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren several nieces, nephews and cousins, best friends, Christine Volo, Diane Kucerak and Richard Cunningham and her two Chinua dogs whom she loved deeply. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her twin sister Jean Sabatino and her devoted companion Ranaford Pekett. Funeral service will take place on Thursday at 7:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc. 115 Court Street; Herkimer. The Reverend Hans Drews will officiate. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery will be at a later date. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm.
