Obituary

EAST SPRINGFIELD - Jean Elizabeth Kicklighter age 62 of Savannah,GA passed away after an extended illness on Thursday afternoon October 9, 2008 in the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Irma and Jim Vickerson in East Springfield. She was born on April 25, 1946 in Cooperstown, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Kaminski Barrett. Jean was raised in Springfield and was educated in Richfield Springs High School. She was first married to Herman Kenneth King in Savannah, GA; he preceded her in death in November of 1999. On February 14, 1991 she was united in marriage with Henry Kicklighter who passed away 2001. For many years Mrs. Kicklighter had worked in Savannah as a Health Aide and waitress. More recently she also was a cleaner for numerous companies Jean had a strong belief in God and led a devoted Catholic life. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring person who was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished two grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are her daughter Dawn King and her husband Omar of Savannah, two brothers, Leo Barrett and his wife Darlene of Richfield Springs, Paul Barrett of Conway, SC, one sister, Irma Vickerson and her husband Jim of East Springfield, two grandchildren, Andrew and Alex King both of Savannah, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husbands Herman and Henry she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Howard Barrett and three sisters, Ann Volo, Helen Clements and Irene Davis. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in St Josephs Cemetery, Richfield Springs with Nancy Brown Parish Life Director officiating. There are no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the St Judes Childrens Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the graveside service. Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
