WEST PALM BEACH, FL-Jeffrey Lyle Wilbert (aka Maine) age 49, formerly of Richfield Springs, passed away suddenly on Friday November 27, 2015 in his home. He was born on February 3, 1966 in Utica, son of the late Patricia (Meyers) Feik and the late Lyle T. Wilbert. Jeff was raised in Richfield Springs and was educated in Richfield Springs High School where he was an outstanding varsity football player. He graduated with the class of 1984. It was that same year that he enlisted in the US Army. He served overseas with the Company B, First Battalion Infantry. He was honorably discharged in 1992 attaining the rank of Specialist Fourth Class. Upon completing his military service he went to work as a Salesman at Skinner & Damulis automobile dealership in Richfield Springs and later for Country Club Chevrolet in Oneonta. In 2007 he moved from Cooperstown to West Palm Beach, FL where he has remained since. In his leisure time, Jeff enjoyed fishing, basketball and following his favorite NFL Team the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jeff was a fun loving, big hearted, lover of life and people, with a Git er done attitude and an unforgettable smile. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Surviving Jeff is his son, Jeffrey Flynn of Cooperstown, his twin brother, John Maine (Wilbert) of Mocksville, NC. Three sisters; Kim Soule of Summerland Key, Fl, Susan Behr of Richfield Springs, NY, Amy Gillette of West Winfield, NY, Step mother Sandra Wilbert, along with three step brothers Dean, John and Todd Wratten ,along with very special friend Daniel de Liege and several nieces, nephews and cousins who enjoyed his jokes and sense of humor. In addition to his mother and father, he was also preceded in death by his sister Patty Zaccagnino and step brother Bobby Sherman. Calling hours for Jeff will be on Saturday ,December 12 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs with a funeral service with military honors to follow at 1:00 pm. The Reverend Alan Miller will officiate.
