RICHFIELD SPRINGS Jennie Anne Boss, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7, 1017, at Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Little Falls.
She was born on November 25, 1940, in Tupper Lake daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy Madore Richer. She was raised and educated in Tupper Lake and graduated from the Holy Ghost Academy in 1960. She continued her education at the Watertown Business School. She had worked at the Ovalwood Dish Company in Tupper Lake and then traveled across country to Pasadena, CA with a friend to work at the Jet Propulsion Lab.
On June 11, 1966 she married Robert E. Boss in the Saint Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake. They shared a devoted union of forty-one years until his passing on May 10, 2008. In the 70s Jennie ran a gift shop on Main Street called Jennie Annes Gifts. Besides being a busy famers wife for many years she opened her home as a certified caregiver for Otsego County ARC, retiring in 2009. Jennie enjoyed knitting and a good game of scrabble. She will be remembered as a fun loving energetic person who truly loved family get togethers. She made sure everyone was having a good time. She was gracious, caring, and devoted to her family. In good times and sad, she was there for them and proud of each accomplishment. Jennie had the ability to make a person feel like they were the most important person in her life. She was a true friend and will be sadly missed by all especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter Lisa Bobnick and her husband Kevin, two sons and their wives, Christopher and Susan Boss and Brian and Kimber Boss all of Richfield Springs, eight grandchildren, Christian, Jonathan, Zachary, Damon, Stan, Cole, Clay, and Molly, two great-grandchildren, Carter and Callie Boss, many nieces nephews, cousins and in-laws.. Besides her parents and husband, Robert she was preceded in death by a brother Gene Richer and twin sisters, Carol and Carolyn Richer.
Calling hours for Mrs. Boss will be on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 11:00 am in St. Joseph the Worker, Richfield Springs. Interment will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
