EAST HERKIMER-Jennie Amanda Brown Peg age 96 passed away on Monday morning February 5, 2007 at the home of her daughter Betty Jane Adamko in Portage, MI. She was born on July 23, 1910 in the town of Fairfield, daughter of the late Olin and Minnie Jane Timmerman Quackenbush. A lifelong area resident she was educated in Dolgeville Central Schools. On June 28, 1929 she was united in marriage with Carl Haas Brown in Dolgeville. A loving and devoted union of seventy-five years he died on March 17, 2005. She had worked for both Daniel Green Company, Dolgeville and later for The Remington Arms Company in Ilion, retiring in 1945. Mrs. Brown had a strong sense of community; she was a member of the Town of Herkimer Senior Citizens, East Herkimer Home Makers and the East Herkimer Health Council. Jennie was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. To all who knew her, they will never forget her warm smile and caring, loving and hopeful manner. Surviving are a son, Robert Carl Brown and his wife Joanne of Winthrop, ME. Her daughter, Betty Jane Adamko of Portage, MI., seven grandchildren, Steven Adamko of Grand Rapids, MI, Sheree Kleinhuizen, Tammy Lovins, Tracey Clemens all of Portage, MI, Kevin Brown of NC, Darren Brown of Manchester ME, Robert Brown of Winthrop, ME, ten great grandchildren, Caden Brown, Britttni Brown, Ryan Brown, Craig Brown, Chelsey Grubb, Chaz Kleinhuizen, Whitney Kleinhuizen, Codey Clemens, Connor Clemens and Austin Lovins. Funeral service will be on Tuesday at 2:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral service (1:00 until 2:00 pm). Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls.
