HOUSTON, TX - Jennie S. Pawlyshyn, 88, formerly of Eureka Avenue, Herkimer, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 31, 2002, at home in Houston.
She was born Oct. 18, 1913, in New York City, daughter of the late George and Mary Prysiazniuk Sawchuk. Jennie was raised and educated in Sharon Springs. On May 23, 1936, she married Vincent Pawlyshyn in Ames, N.Y., a loving and devoted union of 55 years until his passing on July 12, 1981. She moved to Houston in 1987. Jennie had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Herkimer.
Surviving are one sister, Mildred Tremblay with whom she resided in Houston, Texas; a nephew and two cousins.
Besides her parents and husband Vincent she was preceded in death by a brother, John Sawchuk in 1988.
Funeral services will be Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer. The Rev. Eugene Kipper, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, Herkimer, will officiate.
Calling hours will be two hours prior to the funeral service (6-8 p.m.).
Mrs. Pawlyshyn will be laid to rest in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls, later this spring.
