UTICA – Jerome Alexis Collea, Sr. A new chapter has begun for Jerome, reuniting with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday Morning, October 13, 2021.
He was born on July 15, 1936, a son of the late Charles and Margaret (Kennefec) Collea. A devout member of St. Anthony's RC Church, Utica, he was a member of the Holy Name Society and dedicated many hours as head usher, and volunteered for many church events.
Jerome retired from the NYS Department of Transportation Utica, serving over thirty years of loyal service. He was a US Army veteran who served from 1958 through 1961 and called up for an additional six months due to the Cuban Crisis.
He enjoyed spending time with his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Alice Boucher at their summer home in Chippewa Bay on St. Lawrence.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Joyce of 30 years, four children, Linda Fallati, Jerome and Michael Collea and Susan Hogan. Also surviving are four step-children, Michael, Susan, Christine and Jacqueline, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son Charles.
Interment with military honors shall take place at a time to be announced. He will be laid to rest with his parents at Calvary Cemetery, Utica.
