Obituary

ILION Jessie Brown Doxtater Juby age 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 3, 2012 in the Alpine Rehabilitation Center, Little Falls. She was born on August 28, 1943 a daughter of the late Edward Youngs and Cora Brown Edick. She attended Mohawk Schools until 1956 when her family moved to Jordanville. She then attended Van Hornesville Central School graduating with the class of 1962. After graduation she went to work for Duofold, then Allegro and Daniel Green manufacturing Co. On October 24, 1973 she was united in marriage with her high school sweetheart William Doxtater. They shared a loving and devoted union of eighteen years until his passing on December 26, 1991. In 1985 she attended BOCES earning her certificate in Nurses Aide training. Jessie worked for the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home and Folts Home retiring in 1996 due to health problems. On August 29, 2003 she married the light of her life, Charles Juby. Together they enjoyed traveling, seeking out great places to eat and going to Sylvan Beach, just to watch the sunset. Most of their summers were spent at the family camp at Happy Hollow where they made many friends. Charlie preceded her in death on October 6, 2011. Jessie will always be remembered as a caring person who loved people. She was always ready to do for others while seeking nothing in return. She had worked as a home health aide, volunteered for the Catholic Charities driving people to their doctor appointments or dialysis treatments as well as volunteering at Folts Home in the gift shop and helping with Bingo. At the Mohawk Homestead she volunteered with their Bingo and Music program. A friend to nearly everyone she met, she will be sadly missed. Jessie had a strong faith in God and was a member of the West Schuyler United Methodist Church In her leisure time she hand crafted ceramics, collected squirrels, angels and more recently lighthouse figurines. She is survived by two sisters, Carrie Overacker and Eleanor Dutcher both of Mohawk, her late husband Charlies children, Kristie and Chad Smith of Mohawk, Wade and Stacie Juby of Ilion, David and Barbara Strong of Ilion , Wendy and Bob Swanson of AZ, Roxanne Hunt who was like a daughter to her and Roxannes children Randy RJ and Ryan Hunt, many in-laws, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins, dear friends Tom and Vicki Bellinger, Stan Everson and Kathy Terns and her feline companion Sheba. Calling hours for Mrs. Juby will be on Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 noon in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm in the West Schuyler United Methodist Church, 297 Wood Lane; Utica. The Reverend Cindy Makarchuk, Pastor will officiate. Interment will be in Mohawk Cemetery. It was Jessies wish that David and Barbara Strong, Joe Koslowski, and Ken Young be acknowledged for all of their care and support during this difficult time. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Mohawk Homestead, Ilion Fire Department or the West Schuyler United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
