Obituary

ILION Jessie W. Neale, age 79, of Prindle Apartments, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 23, 2003 in St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. She was born on April 27, 1924 in Frankfort, a daughter of the late Peter and Shirley (Jones) Weiss, Sr. A lifelong area resident she was educated in Frankfort and Utica, graduating from Proctor High School. On April 12, 1943 she married Carleton F. Neale in Denver CO. They were blessed with seven children and shared a devoted union of forty-nine years until his passing on May 2, 1992. For many years she worked for local manufacturing companies including the Doeskin Paper Mill of New Hartford and Salada Foods of Little Falls. In 1986 she retired from the H.M. Quackenbush Manufacturing Company of Herkimer. Jessie was a devoted wife and caring mother who cherished the time spent with family and friends. She will always be remembered as a loving and helpful person and will be truly missed by her family and friends. She enjoyed arts and crafts, a night out for bingo and traveling. She had a strong belief in God and was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are four sons, Richard and his wife Denise Neale of Ilion, Clifford and his wife Brenda Neale of Middleville, Ronald and his wife Kimberly Neale of New Castle Delaware, Keith Neale of Ilion; three daughter and their husbands, Carlyn and David Earl of Ilion and Florida, Marilyn and Willie Mason of Mohawk, Janie and Earl Polley of Ilion; two brothers, Peter Weiss Jr. and his wife Bernie of Columbia Center, Richard Weiss and his wife Ann of Burlington Flats; one sister, Shirley Guido of Woodstock Georgia; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, Carleton she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Michelle Reinhardt and Billi Jo Mason. Funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Wrightson S. Tongue, Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Herkimer/ Little Falls will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer. The family will be present in the funeral home to received relatives and friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 5:00 pm..
