HERKIMER-Joan F. Susenburger age 67 passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon January 27, 2021 in Albany Medical Center from complications due to Covid-19. She was born on September 16, 1953 in Maspeth, Queens. Joan was raised in Queens and was educated in Saint Stanislaus Elementary School and was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School. On August 31, 1980 she was united in marriage to John D. Susenburger in Saint Stanislaus Church in Queens. In 1987 they moved to Herkimer, coming from Binghamton. For several years, Joan worked for the Herkimer Elementary School as an Aid and also an Election Poll worker. In her leisure time she enjoyed rug hooking and traveling and going on cruises with her husband Jack. To all who knew her, she was a caring, loving and supportive lady. She was selfless and was always ready to do for others while looking for nothing in return. She will greatly missed.
She leaves behind her loving husband of forty years, Jack, a daughter Jessica Parker and her husband Eric of Glenville, her brother, Paul Pytelewski and his wife Jan of Alpraretta, GA, three cherished grandchildren, Jordan Parker, Chase Parker and Shane Parker, one nephew, PJ Lamberti and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Valerie Ostrowski.
In accordance with her wishes, a graveside service will take place at the family site in Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY, when weather and COVID permit. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer.
