RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Joan L. Zvirzdin age 69 passed away on Friday evening October 19, 2018 in her home. She had the support and love of her devoted family at her side.
She was born on July 29, 1949 in Cooperstown, daughter of Doris Strafel VanBuren and the late William W. VanBuren. Joan was raised in Cooperstown and was a graduate of Cooperstown High School. Her adult life has been in the Richfield Springs area where she made her home and raised her family. Joan had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Johns Episcopal Church in Richfield Springs. She had a strong sense of community having served as an EMT on the Schuyler Lake Volunteer Fire Department and for a short time was a CMT for the Cooperstown Medical Transport.
To those who knew her she will always be remembered as loving, caring and helpful lady. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her son, John A. Lamb II of Sebring, FL, two daughters, Janet Lamb of Ballston Spa, Jaclyn Smith of Cape Coral, FL, two brothers, John VanBuren and his wife Penny of Columbia Center, Charles VanBuren and his wife Beth of Butler, PA, a sister, Debra Oines of Monticello, four cherished grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her father William, she was preceded in death by a brother, William VanBuren.
Funeral service for Mrs. Zvirzdin will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
