RICHFIELDSPRINGS - John H. Forbes, Sr., age 53, of Park Street, passed away on Thursdayevening, October 23, 2002 in Bassett Healthcare Cooperstown. Hewas born on August 5, 1949, in Cooperstown, a son of the late Donald and Dorothy(Sprague) Forbes. A lifelong arearesident he was raised and educated inCherry Valley. He graduatedfrom Cherry Valley High School class of 1969.On January 8, 1979 he married Teri Spraker in Virginia.A carpenter by trade he had worked for various companies until 1990.John was full of life, love and laughter.He was an outgoing person and will be remembered as a generous, caringand helpful person. Survivingare his wife of 23 years, Teri; a son, John Forbes, daughter-in-law TrishaForbes, a daughter, Jamie Forbes-Talbot; two grandchildren, Adrienne Forbes,Joshua Talbot; one sister, Joan Brown all of Richfield Springs, hismother-in-law Gertrude Spraker of Springfield Center; several aunts, uncles,cousins, nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws.He also leaves his canine pal Lexi.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter CarrieLynn on January 24, 1996, a brother, Donald Forbes and a sister Leona Forbes. Funeralservice will be on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. in J.Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, RichfieldSprings. Reverend Alan Miller,pastor of the Richfield Springs Bible Church will officiate.The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives andfriends on Saturday from 1:00 3:00 p.m. Intermentwill be private and at the convenience of the family.
