RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Joyce Marie Kimsey age 84 passed away peacefully on Monday evening September 13, 2021 in Faxton-Saint Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford. She was born on July 14, 1937 in the town of Maryland, daughter of the late Edna Knapp. She was a lifelong Richfield Springs area resident and was educated in Richfield Springs Central School. On July 20, 1972 she was united in marriage to Dale E. Kimsey in Kast Bridge. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. For a short time she was employed by the Shur-Catch Company in Richfield Springs. To all who knew her will always remember what a kind, caring and loving lady that she was. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her cherished grandchildren. She will be sadly missed, She is survived by her husband of forty nine years Dale, two sons David DeForest and Matthew DeForest, a brother, Richard DeForest of Canton, one sister, Alice Crist of Richfield Springs, five grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her mother Edna Knapp she was preceded in death by a son, Michael DeForest, two daughters, Donna Sweet and Sylvia DeForest. At Mrs. Kimsey request funeral service and committal will be private and at the convenience the family. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., Herkimer. Private
