Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Joyce C. Lincourt age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday evening June 20, 2014 in Harding Nursing Home, Waterville. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side. Joyce was born on April 8, 1924 in Herkimer, daughter of the late John and Dorothy Brunette Davis. She was educated in Saint Francis deSales Regional School, attended Herkimer schools and graduated from high school in Syracuse. On June 27 1942 she was united in marriage with Laurence A. Lincourt in Saint Joseph's RC Church, Richfield Springs. For many years Mrs. Lincourt worked as a seamstress for the Duofold Inc. in both Ilion and Mohawk. Joyce had a strong faith in God and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker R.C. Church in Richfield Springs where she was a member of the Catholic Women's Club and the Rosary Society. She also had a true sense of community being a fifty-eight year member of Hugick, Purcell, Shepard American Legion Post # 616 Ladies Auxiliary, a fifty-two year member of the Richfield Springs Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, working the Election Polls and was active in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Brownies. To all who knew her she was a kind, giving and caring lady who enjoyed doing for others while looking for nothing in return. She will be greatly missed. Surviving besides her devoted husband of seventy-two years Laurence are their children, Kathleen Kraus and her husband Roger of Clinton, Wayne Lincourt and his wife Laura of Collyville, TX, Laurence A. Lincourt Jr. and his wife Brenda of Lawton, OK, Alan Lincourt and his life partner Margaret Kroll of Richfield Springs, Barbara Thompson and her husband Brett of Boise, ID, five grandchildren, Douglas Kraus and his wife Suzanne, Patricia Carter and her husband Christopher, Adam Lincourt and his wife Nina, Heather Lincourt, Matthew Thompson and his wife Lesley, two step great-grandchildren, Lindsay Ames and her husband Noel, Sarah Paul and her husband Josh, two great grandchildren, Daniel and Lauren Kraus, four great great-grandchildren, Rylee and Ava Langhinrich, Janna Paul and Morgan Ames, a step-sister Mary Jeanne Davis and two step-brothers, John Davis and his wife Susan and Kerry Davis. three sons, Wayne A. Lincourt of Dallas, TX, Laurence A. Lincourt and his wife Brenda of Lawton, OK, Alan E. Lincourt and his wife Margaret Kroll of Richfield Springs, two daughters, Kathleen Kraus and her husband Roger of Clinton, Barbara A. Thompson and her husband Brett of Boise, ID, one brother, Kerry Davis of Syracuse, a sister, Mary Jean Davis of W VA, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy (Davis) Kane and her husband George, her step-mother, Jean (Mower) Davis, Step-brothers, Robert, Joseph, Lawrence and Terrence Davis and a step-sister, Joann (Davis) Neill. Calling hours for Mrs. Lincourt will be on Monday June 30th from 9:00 to 11:00 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately after at 11:30 am in Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Bernard Osei Ampong, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Richfield Springs Emergency Squad, the Richfield Springs Volunteer Fire Department or the Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will b e available at the funeral home. The Lincourt family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Harding Nursing Home for the wonderful care that was given to Joyce during her illness and residence at Harding.
