Obituary

JORDANVILLE Judith A. Gilmartin, age 65, of Main Street, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 1945 in Bassett Heathcare, Cooperstown. She was born on January 19, 1945, in Hamlet NC, daughter of the late Stanley and Lillian Geyda. Judy was raised in Queens and was a graduate of Jamaica High School. As a true patriot of Americaon January 29, 1962 she enlisted in the US Air Force as a medic .She was honorably discharged on December 8, 1965. She continued her education at Wright State College and received her degree in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta. She was first married to Albert Neria. On March 20, 1982 she was united in marriage with Joseph P. Gilmartin Sr. in Long Island. They at one time lived in Richfield Springs and in 1987 moved to Jordanville. Mrs. Gilmartin had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Jordanville Federated Church. She most recently was in the process of starting a special needs program at the church for the disabled. She was a member of the Richfield Springs Lioness Club. To all who knew her they will remember a caring, hopeful person who enjoyed doing for others. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She will be greatly missed Surviving are her husband of twenty-eight years, Joseph P. Gilmartin Sr., one son, Joseph P. Gilmartin, Jr. and his companion Tamara Richards of Springfield, OH, three daughters, Catherine Neria, Debbie Clements and her husband Aaron all of Herkimer, Jessica Gilmartin and her husband Mustaph Sahli, of Jordanville, Jennifer Gilmartin and her fianc Travis Walsh, of Delhi, a brother Thomas Czaplicki of Wyandotte, MI, two grandchildren, Joseph Gilmartin, III of Springfield OH, and Isabel Clements of Herkimer. Funeral service will be on (Tuesday) today at 7:00 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc, 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Interment with full military honors will take place at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery; Schuylerville. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday (today) from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Jordanville Federated Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
