HERKIMER-Julianna Ottile Weber age 98 passed away peacefully on Saturday morning November 22, 2014 in Faxton-Saint Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford. She was born on November 15, 1916 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Arthur G. and Anna Thimin Brucker. A lifelong Herkimer resident, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On December 30, 1978 she was united in marriage with Frederick J. Weber in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Herkimer. They shared a loving and devoted union of twenty-six years until his passing on October 3, 1995. In 1940 Julianna went to work for the Herkimer County Department of Social Services and had served as the Deputy Welfare Commissioner and as the Director of Administration Services. She retired in 1979 after thirty-nine years of dedicated service. Mrs. Weber had a strong faith in God and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Herkimer where she had taught Sunday school. Julianna was a member of the Rebecca's in both Herkimer and Rome and also had served as a Past Noble Grand. She was also a sixty-six year member of Evening Star Valley Chapter # 82 Order of the Eastern Star. To those who knew her, she will always be remembered as a businesswoman with a fastidious appearance. She took great pride in her work at the county office and served as a great example to her co-workers. She will be truly missed. She is survived by a cousin, Betty Lemkee of Englewood, FL, and her caregivers, Laura Hailston, Mary Lee Olmsted and David Hunt. Besides her parents and husband Frederick, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur G. Brucker Jr. Calling hours for Mrs. Weber will be on Tuesday in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc. 115 Court Street; Herkimer from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at the conclusion of the visiting hours (1:00 pm) in the funeral home. The committal will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery immediately after the service.
