HERKIMER-June E. Hoke age 84 of 104 North Washington Street, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 30, 2015 in Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center. She was born on January 29, 1931 in Mohawk daughter of the late Milton and Edith Hill Dibble. June was raised and educated in Mohawk and Richfield Springs. On March 5, 1966 she was united in marriage with Ernest C. Hoke in Mohawk. They made their home in Richfield Springs. Together they shared a loving and devoted union of thirty-eight years until his passing on April 5, 2004. She moved to Herkimer in 2006. For a few years Mrs. Hoke worked as a sales clerk at Nichols Department Store in Herkimer before leaving the work field to stay at home and care for her family. June had a strong faith in God and had attended the Bible Baptist Church in Richfield Springs. In her leisure time she enjoyed ceramics and at one time had her own ceramics studio. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed. Surviving are three sons, George Loiacono of Ilion, Theodore Loiacono of Mohawk, Keith Loiacono and his wife Doris of Jordanville, three daughters, Terri Skramko and her husband David of Ilion, Linda Madison and her companion Brian of Johnstown, Judith Schell and her husband Edward of Herkimer, a brother, Douglas Dibble and his wife Gaye of Mohawk, two sisters, Bette Johnson of Ilion, Lorane Burns of Ilion, a son-in-law, Thomas Hallock of Richfield Springs, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Ernest she was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Hallock, three grandchildren, Jason David Foster, Marie Starr and Renee' Loiacono,, and a son Ernest C. Hoke Jr. who passed away the same day as his mother June. Funeral service for Mrs. Hoke and her son Ernest will be on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Alan Miller will officiate. Calling hours will take place two hours before the funeral service (11:00 am to 1:00 pm) in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to grandson John Foster for all of his help during this difficult time. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
