LITCHFIELD - Kang Im Gilbert Connie of Berberick Road passed away peacefully on Friday morning June 28, 2013 in her home with her loving husband at her side.
She was born and raised in Korea.On August 2, 1968 she was united in marriage with William C. Gilbert in the American Embassy, Seoul, Korea.Connie came to America in 1969 and obtained her American citizenship in 1974. She and her husband first farmed in Mohawk and in 1973 moved to Litchfield where they owned and operated the Gilbert Family Dairy Farm.With her husband they retired from farming in 1999.
In her leisure time Connie enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and the frequent trips to the Stone
To all who knew her they will never forget her warm gracious manner, her charming smile and her Kimchee and Yaki-Mandu.She will be dearly missed by her many friends and loving family.
Surviving are her devoted husband of forty-four years William, a son Rainbow Yung Gilbert of Utica, many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins in Korea, along with family here, Leonard and Lois Gilbert of Mohawk, Frank and Gwen Gilbert of Fort McCoy, FL, Joyce Shafer of Brick, NJ, Ron and Joan Buell of Pombay, FL, Tom and Diane Gilbert of West Winfield, Gayle and Deb of Burlington Flats, Howard Bowen of Burlington Flats and Colette Gilbert of Herkimer.She was predeceased by Donald and Mildred Gilbert, Dick and Ginny Hardman, Ken Shafer, Don Gilbert, Bonnie Bowen and Mike Gilbert.
At Mrs. Gilberts request funeral service and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
