Karen J. Gilbert, 75, of Geneva, NY, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY, after a courageous battle with Leukemia.

Karen was born in Herkimer, NY on January 9, 1950, the daughter of the late George and Jane (Cress) Gilbert Jr.  Karen was raised in Herkimer and graduated from Herkimer High School.  She continued her education attending Albany State College and Middlebury College, VT.  She also studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, this is where she found the love of travel and exploring the world.  She was a world traveler finding herself loving different cultures and others way of life.  For the past 45 years Karen lived in California and was employed by AT&T, Ross Department Store and was a manager of housing complex.    She moved back to New York 5 years ago and she enjoyed working at Wal-Mart.

Karen is survived by her beloved sisters Cynthia Lynch, Stanley, NY, Mary Ellyn Levy and her husband Steven, Woodridge, NY, Mary Ann Gilbert, Ilion, NY, several niece, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 11 AM, Oak Hill Cemetery, West German Street, Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest with her parents George and Jane Gilbert.
