RICHFIELD SPRINGS Karla Mary Snyder, age 45, ofLakeview Avenue, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2001, in her home. Daughter of the late Karl and Mary Vertucci Brown, she was born on July 23,1955, in Richfield Springs.She graduated from Richfield Springs High School, Class of 1973. She furtheredher education at Cazenovia College, where she received a two-year degree inearly childhood education.From 1975 until 1982, Karla had owned and operated the Peppermint Patty NurserySchool in Richfield Springs.On Oct. 11, 1980, she married Gary W. Snyder in St. Joseph's Church, RichfieldSprings.In 1988, she worked as a special education teacher for the Pathfinder Village inEdmeston, retiring in 1990. Her interests were with the Jordanville Public Library, where she held summerreading programs. She also did volunteer work for the American Cancer Society.She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. Surviving are her beloved husband of 20 years, Gary; one brother, Gerard J.Brown of Richfield Springs; her mother-in-law, Mildred Paine of Herkimer; andseveral aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Frank E.Snyder.Funeral from J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs,will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will becelebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs, with the Rev.Terrance Healy officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Thefamily will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends onFriday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Jordanville Public Library.
