HERKIMER-Kassendra Kassie Miller age 36, of Schenectady, formerly of Shoemaker Hill Road, Mohawk passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 4, 2008.
She was born on October 10, 1971 in Ilion, daughter of Donald and Catherine Macrina Miller. A lifelong area resident she graduated from Mohawk High School,Herkimer CountyCommunity College and continued her education, earning her Bachelors degree in Social Work from the College of St. Rosein Albany.
Upon graduation from college she went to work as a social worker in various agencies in the Albanyarea and more recently working for Eddy Senior Care in Schenectady. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer.
To all who knew her they will remember a loving, caring and hopeful young woman who was gifted with the ability to find good in everyone she met. Her mission in life was to help others and always placed them before herself. In more recent years she found great joy and satisfaction in working with the elderly and found a personal fulfillment caring for their needs. A friend to many she will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Surviving are her parents Donald and Catherine Miller of North Fort Meyers, FL, aunts and uncles, Richard and Doris Miller of Herkimer, Herbert and Debbie Hagadorn of Mohawk and Clara Mae Vandelinder of Myrtle Beach, SC, along with many loving cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in Millers Mills Churchwith Pastor Ed Woodworth officiating. Interment will follow in Millers Mills Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer County Community College Foundation to establish a scholarship for continuing education in social work in memory of Kassendra Miller. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service.
