LITTLE FALLS Kate McCurley Emerson, 97 died December 28, 2005 at home. She was born on November 26, 1908 in Relay, MD. Kate graduated from Goucher College in 1929 with a degree in chemistry. On June 21, 1933, she married Hugh Norman Emerson. Kate loved children, reading, bird watching, travel nature and was interested in historical preservation. Besides her husband a younger brother and sister predeceased her. Surviving are one older sister, Harriet McCurley Trout, Richmond VA; her five children, Frank Creighton Emerson, Arlington VA, Marge Cameron Emerson, Oak View, CA, Susan Emerson Simaika and her husband, Sam of Silver Springs, MD, Harriet Ann Emerson, Morgantown, WV and Catherine Emerson Bowne and her husband Douglas of Little Falls. Kate has seven grandchildren, including Heather Emerson Bowne, Toronto, Canada and Anna Emerson Bowne, Honeoye Falls, and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in Catonsville, MD.
