Katharine G. Muller Gottfried, 55, passed away on Saturday morning, February 9, 2008 at home with her family at her side.
Katharine was born July 27, 1952, in Paterson, NJ and attended high school at Ramapo Regional in Franklin Lakes NJ and College at WilliamPaterson Universityin Paterson NJ.In her professional career she worked as a teller and IRA specialist at several banks in New Jersey. On July 14, 1984 Katharine married Benjamin R Gottfried in a beautiful garden ceremony at her parents home in Wyckoff, NJ.On June 25, 1986, Katharine gave birth to her son Maximilian who attends college at the SUNY Oswego School of Business.
Katharine is survived by her husband Benjamin and her son Maximilian both of Richfield Springs. Kathy is also survived by her mother S. Katherine Muller of Herkimer and her brother Fredric Muller of Lancaster CA.Also surviving and coping with her loss is her cousin Carol Stromek, her husband Jack Housman of Franklin,NJ, and Uncle William Muller of Woodridge, NJ.Her many friends will also have to go on with life without her smile and love of life. In addition to these loved ones Kathy also leaves behind special pets Sparkle, Dixie cup and the barn cats.Her houseplants, garden, and herd of Holstein dairy heifers are also forced to look for meaning with the loss of her attentive hands.
Katharine perished after a five year argument with cancer.She traveled extensively during the argument phase and smiled every day as we proclaimed being together means having a nice day.Special thanks are in order to Bassett Healthcare cancer treatment providers Patrick, Michele and Cara for their attention to detail and pixy dust used to fight her disease. Their efforts were not in vain and will be a focus during Kathys memorial services this Monday and Tuesday.
Kathys life was full of love and happiness she never let go of her Im getting better spirit but like a pinwheel spinning in the wind a gentle wind turns to stillness and the joyful blades of the toy come to a stop. For Kathy the stillness in the air meant its time to say goodbye my love, the spinning has come to an end.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, RichfieldSprings. Calling hours are Monday from 5:00 7:00 pm and Tuesday from 12noon until 1:00pm. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
