HERKIMER-Katherine A. Gleason, age 86, formerly of 105 Protection Avenue, Nathan Galinsky Apartments passed away on Monday morning July 23, 2001 in Folts Homes, Herkimer where she has resided since 1999. She was born on October 6, 1914 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Leroy and Mary French Gleason. A lifelong resident of Herkimer, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. For thirty-seven years she worked for UNIVAC retiring in 1976. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer. Katherine was happiest when she was with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all of them. Surviving are two nephews, Bruce A. Gleason of East Herkimer, Gary Gleason of Lawrenceville, GA; a niece, Pamela Green of Herkimer, several great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Douglas R. Gleason in 1991 and a nephew Edward Gleason in 1993. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Katherines family wish to extend their deep gratitude to the fourth floor staff of Folts Homes for their care, compassion and understanding during her stay.
